Rigatoni With Meat Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. vegetable oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, quartered
1 medium carrot, chopped
1 small celery stalk, chopped
4 sprigs fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 tsp. dry parsley)
pinch of oregano
6 leaves fresh basil, chopped (or 1/2 tsp. dry basil)
1 lb. ground beef
1/3 c. dry red wine
1 can (28 oz.) Italian type tomatoes
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
1 lb. rigatoni*
Preparation

In large saucepan heat oil. Saute onion, garlic, carrot and celery until golden brown. Add parsley, oregano, basil and meat. Stir and cook until meat is brown. Add wine and let evaporate quickly. Add tomatoes, salt and pepper; simmer about 1/2 hour. Prepare rigatoni as package directs. Drain. Pour in warm bowl. Add sauce and parmesan cheese. Toss to mix.
