Rum Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. rum or 2 tsp. rum flavoring
    yolks of 2 eggs
    1/2 c. milk or cream
Preparation
    Cream the butter. Add sugar gradually, then rum flavoring very slowly. Add well beaten egg yolks and milk or cream. Cook over hot water until it thickens as a custard. Pour onto beaten egg whites. It is delicious on bread pudding.
