Black Forest Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. devil's food cake mix
    1 can cherry pie filling
    1 pt. cream, well chilled
    1/3 c. confectioners sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. grated orange rind
    3 Tbsp. chocolate shavings
Preparation
    Prepare cake mix as directed on package.
    Bake batter in 2 greased and floured 9-inch pans.
    Remove cake layers from pans and cool on rack.
    Place 1 cooled layer on serving plate.
    Spread half can of cherries on first layer.
    Top with second layer.
    Combine sugar, vanilla, orange rind, and cream.
    Whip cream mixture until cream holds its shape.
    Spread on second layer and sides.
    Spread half of cherries on top of whipped cream.
    Sprinkle with chocolate shavings.
    Chill until ready to serve.
