Cheer-Up Chicken Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. water
    1 (14 oz.) can chicken broth
    3 boned and skinned chicken breasts, halved
    1/2 c. thinly sliced carrots
    1/2 c. thinly sliced celery
    1 lb. (3 medium) potatoes, cubed
    8 oz. sliced mushrooms
    1/2 c. thinly sliced green onions
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    In 3-quart saucepan, combine water and broth; bring to a boil. Meanwhile, cut chicken into 1/2-inch chunks.
    Add to liquid with carrots, celery and potatoes.
    Simmer for 10 minutes.
    Add mushrooms, onions and thyme.
    Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
    Add salt and pepper.
    Serves 4 to 6.
