Ingredients

1/2 c. vegetable shortening
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 c. self-rising flour
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation

Cream shortening, sugars and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well.
Add flour to mixture.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a baking sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
Makes 2 dozen.
