Ingredients

1 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. molasses
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vinegar
2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Preparation

Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
Mix brown sugar, shortening, molasses, milk and vinegar.
Stir in flour, ginger and cinnamon.
Drop by rounded teaspoonful about 2 inches apart onto a cookie sheet. Press 3 raisins in each cookie for eyes and mouth.
Bake until set, 11 to 12 minutes.
