Saucy Sirloin Surprise - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. boneless sirloin steak (1-inch thick)
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 can golden mushroom soup
    3/4 c. water
    2 Tbsp. sherry
    1 large clove garlic, minced
    1 medium bay leaf
    1 (9 oz.) pkg. frozen whole green beans
Preparation
    Trim fat from meat.
    Cut into 1-inch cubes.
    In skillet, brown meat in shortening.
    Pour off fat.
    Add remaining ingredients, except beans.
    Cover; cook over low heat 1 hour.
    Stir now and then.
    Remove bay leaf.
    Chill overnight.
