Banana Nut Cake - cooking recipe

2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 2/3 c. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
1/3 c. buttermilk
1 1/4 c. mashed bananas
1/3 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. unbeaten eggs (2 large)
2/3 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt, then add shortening, 1/3 cup buttermilk and bananas.
Beat vigorously for 2 minutes.
Add 1/3 cup buttermilk and nuts; beat 2 more minutes and then fold in nuts.
Pour batter into prepared pans.
Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
