Fork-Tender Swiss Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. round steak, cut 1-inch thick
    salt and pepper
    1 c. flour
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 onions, sliced
    2 c. cooked tomatoes
Preparation
    Season the steak and place it on a well floured cutting board. Cover the\tsteak
    with
    flour and pound it with a meat hammer. Continue
    to turn, flour and pound the meat until all the flour is taken
    up by the steak.
