Ellie'S Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. sugar
    1 c. white syrup
    1 c. water
    3 egg whites
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. pecans
Preparation
    Cook water, sugar and syrup until it reaches soft boil stage. Add 1/2 of the syrup mixture to stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Cook other half of syrup to crack stage when dropped into cold water. Add this to egg whites, beating all the time.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Stir with a large spoon until it loses its gloss.
    Pour into buttered pan.
