Strawberry Shortcake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
4 Tbsp. shortening
1 egg
2/3 c. milk
Preparation

Sift together the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and shortening.
Mix thoroughly with fork.
Add milk to beaten egg and add slowly to make soft dough.
Drop by tablespoon on greased cookie sheet for individual shortcakes or put in a 9-inch round cake pan.
Bake in hot oven (400\u00b0 to 425\u00b0) for 10 to 12 minutes for individual, longer for cake pan.
Serve with fresh sweetened strawberries.
