Hamburger Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. hot water
    1 qt. canned tomatoes (or juice)
    1 c. diced celery
    1 c. diced carrots
    1 c. diced potatoes
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. meat extract (bouillon cube)
    1 Bay Leaf
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 c. chopped onion
Preparation
    Cook 1st. 8 ingredients in large kettle.
    While they are cooking, brown ground beef and onion.
    After browning, add to rest of ingredients.
    Cook till done, about 20 minutes.
    Could also be put in slow cooker and cook for 6 - 8 hours.
    Optional:
    Add cabbage.
