Shrimp Creole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. oil
    1 c. chopped green pepper
    2 c. chopped onions
    1 c. chopped celery
    2 tsp. minced garlic
    2 c. whole tomatoes
    1 Tbsp. paprika
    1/4 tsp. cayenne
    1 bay leaf
    1 tsp. salt
    3 c. water
    3 lb. raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Heat oil.
    Saute next 4 ingredients until tender.
    Add tomatoes and brown.
    Stir in paprika, cayenne, salt and water. Add a bay leaf and simmer for 15 minutes.
    Add shrimp and continue simmering for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Thicken sauce with cornstarch mixed with a little cold water.
    Serve with rice.
    Makes 4 to 6 servings.
