Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 oz. red food coloring
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. lemon flavoring
2 1/4 c. cake flour
1 tsp. soda
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vinegar
1 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Cream together shortening and sugar; add eggs, food coloring, vanilla and lemon flavoring.
Sift together flour, soda and cocoa. Add the vinegar to the buttermilk.
Alternating, add the flour mixture and the buttermilk to the creamed mixture.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until toothpick comes out clean (15 to 20 minutes).
Use 3 greased and floured 8-inch round cake pans or one 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
