New Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    30 small new potatoes
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 1/2 c. fat free half and half
    3 Tbsp. bacon drippings
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. corn starch
    salt and pepper to taste
    green onions, chopped (optional)
    2 pieces bacon, crumbled
Preparation
    Scrape the peel off of the potatoes.
    Wash well.
    Cover with cold water; cover and bring to a boil.
    Cook until fork tender, approximately 15 minutes after they come to a boil.
    Add bacon drippings and butter and stir.
    Mix cornstarch with 1 cup of half and half and add to the potatoes stirring well.
    Add the rest of the half and half, salt and pepper.
    Stir frequently to keep from sticking and scorching.
    Cook until smooth and it thickens. Garnish with chopped green onions and crispy fried bacon.
