Self-Filled Cupcakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box German chocolate cake mix
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. softened cream cheese
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. granulated sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate bits
Preparation
    Prepare cake mix as directed on box.
    Fill each greased cupcake cup 2/3 full.
    Cream together the cheese, salt, sugar and egg until light and fluffy.
    Stir in chocolate bits.
    Drop a tablespoon of this mixture on top of each cupcake.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cream mixture will be in the center of each cake.
    These may be frosted with chocolate icing, if desired.
