Lime Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 lb. cucumbers
    2 c. lime
    2 gal. water
    2 qt. vinegar
    2 tsp. salt
    11 c. sugar or 5 lb. bag
    1 or 2 tsp. turmeric
    pickling spice to taste (about 2 Tbsp.)
Preparation
    Wash and cut cucumbers in 1/4-inch sliess.
    Soak in water and lime 8 to 10 hours.
    Wash several times to get lime out.
    Put cucumbers in solution made with rest of ingredients.
    Let stand 3 hours.
    Boil in same solution for 30 minutes.
    Put in clean hot jars and seal.
    Makes 7 or 8 quarts.
