Plantation Pecan Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. butter (not margarine)
1 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 c. light corn syrup
1 Tbsp. evaporated milk or cream
1/4 tsp. salt
3 large eggs at room temperature
2 Tbsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 c. broken pecan pieces
1 (9-inch) pie shell, unbaked
Preparation

Cream butter and gradually add sugar.
Add syrup and evaporated milk.
In a separate bowl, add salt to eggs and beat until light.
Stir well into first mixture.
Add vanilla and pecans.
Use 1 cup nuts for halves, 1 1/2 cups if using broken pieces.
Pour into pie shell. Bake in preheated oven at 400\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
Lower heat to 350\u00b0 and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
