Ranch-Style Frijoles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. pinto beans
    2 tsp. salt
    2 large onions
    4 cloves garlic
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1/2 tsp. cumin seed
    1 can chopped green chilies
    1 (4 oz.) can taco sauce
    1 can tomatoes
    1 tsp. sugar
    4 strips bacon
Preparation
    Soak beans in cold water overnight.
    Drain, wash and cover with about 2 inches of water.
    Add salt and boil over moderate heat for about 1 hour, adding water if needed.
    Add diced onion, diced garlic, pepper, cumin seed, chopped chilies, taco sauce and tomatoes.
    Cook over medium heat for an hour or longer, until beans are tender.
    For spicier beans, add 1 or 2 teaspoons of red chili powder.
