Okra Fingers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    20 small fresh okra pods
    1 c. buttermilk
    3/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1/4 c. cornmeal
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    corn oil
Preparation
    Wash okra, trim and drain.
    Place in shallow dish.
    Pour buttermilk over okra, set aside.
    Combine next 5 ingredients, mixing well.
    Remove okra from buttermilk and carefully roll in cornmeal mixture.
    Drop into hot oil (375\u00b0).
    Fry 3 to 5 minutes, turning and browning on all sides.
    Drain on paper towels.
