Buttercream Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
    3 1/2 to 4 c. (1 lb. pkg.) powdered sugar
    1 Tbsp. milk or cream
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg
Preparation
    In a small mixing bowl, cream butter; add 1/3 of the sugar and beat well.
    Add egg, vanilla, salt and cream; beat until smooth. Gradually add remaining sugar, beating until smooth.
    If frosting is too thick, additional cream may be added.
