Tossed Artichoke Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. salad oil
    1/3 c. vinegar
    4 thin slices onion (I didn't use these)
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    1/4 tsp. celery seed
    1 (9 oz.) pkg. frozen artichoke hearts
    1 (4 oz.) can pimentos, chopped (I used 2 oz.)
    torn lettuce or salad greens
Preparation
    In a saucepan, combine oil, vinegar, 2 tablespoons of water, onion, sugar, garlic, 1/2 teaspoon salt, celery seed and dash of pepper.
    Bring to boiling.
    Add artichoke hearts.
    Cook until tender, 3 to 5 minutes.
    Cool.
    Stir in pimento.
    Chill.
