Ingredients

1/4 c. margarine
3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. milk
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. washed and stemmed gooseberries
1 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. margarine
1 c. boiling water
Preparation

Cream margarine and 1/3 cup sugar well.
Add baking powder and flour, mix well.
Add milk to creamed mixture.
Spread in greased 8-inch pie pan.
Top with berries.
Sprinkle 1 cup sugar over berries, dot with margarine and pour boiling water over all.
Bake 30 to 40 minutes at 375\u00b0 until lightly brown.
