Orange Candy Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    5 eggs
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates
    2 c. chopped pecans
    1 (4 oz.) can shredded coconut
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. buttermilk
    2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 lb. orange candy slices, cut in small pieces
    4 c. plain flour, sifted (1/4 c. to dredge fruits and nuts, 3 3/4 c. to mix into batter)
Preparation
    Turn oven to 300\u00b0.
    Beat butter and
    sugar
    until it is fluffy.
    Add eggs, beating well after
    each
    addition.
    Mix in vanilla.
    Measure 3 3/4 cups of sifted
    flour
    and\tsift
    with baking
    soda
    and
    salt.
    Add
    flour
    mixture
    and\tbuttermilk alternately to cake batter.
    Mix chopped dates, chopped orange candy, chopped nuts and coconut in 1/4
    cup
    flour.
    Mix well. Fold this fruit-nut mixture into the
    cake batter.\tGrease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
    Spoon batter into pan and bake in a slow oven (300\u00b0) for 2 1/2 hours.
