Apple Butter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. apples, cut in pieces
    1 c. water
    2 c. apple cider
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground allspice
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
Preparation
    Place water and apples in pan; bring to boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer until apples are tender.
    Add rest of the ingredients. Cook over low-heat until thick and dark, (about 2 hours or more). If too runny, use less liquid.
    Makes 1 1/2 quarts.
