Walnut Cherry Delight - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shelled walnuts
    1 1/4 c. flour
    1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. butter, softened
    1/2 c. flaked coconut
    8 oz. cream cheese (soft)
    1/3 c. granulated sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Chop 1/2 cup of walnuts coarsely; set aside for garnishing. Chop remaining walnuts fine.
    Combine flour, brown sugar and butter; blend until fine crumbs form.
    Add coconut and finely chopped walnuts.
    Mix well.
    Set aside 1/2 cup.
    Pack remainder onto bottom of greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 about 15 minutes.
    Beat cream cheese with granulated sugar, egg and vanilla until very smooth.
    Spread over hot baked walnut layer.
    Bake 10 minutes.
    Remove and spread cherry pie filling over the top. Sprinkle with coarsely chopped nuts and reserved flour/brown sugar mixture.
    Bake 15 minutes.
