Marinated Broccoli - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head broccoli
    1 medium onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings (I use purple onion)
    1 jar (2 oz.) chopped pimento drained
    3/4 c. sugar
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/3 c. vegetable oil
    3/4 c. red wine vinegar with garlic
    1 clove garlic, crushed
Preparation
    Trim coarse stem ends and leaves from broccoli.
    Wash and cut lengthwise into 1/2 to 3/4-inch thick strips.
    Toss onion and pimento with broccoli.
    Set aside.
    Combine sugar, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar and garlic.
    Mix thoroughly and pour over broccoli and onion mixture.
    Marinate overnight, stirring occasionally. Drain.
