Souffle Crackers(Originated At The White House) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

36 saltine crackers
1/2 c. butter (not margarine)
ice water
garlic powder
sesame seed
poppy seed
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0 and butter 2 cookie sheets.
Put ice water in shallow dish or pie plate.
Using several at a time, put crackers into water in a single layer, pushing to just below surface.
Let stand 30 seconds.
Carefully remove with slotted spatula to cookie sheet about 1/2-inch apart.
When sheets are full, tip and drain off excess water.
Brush very gently with melted butter mixed with garlic powder.
Coat and sprinkle with sesame and poppy seed.
Bake 15 minutes at 400\u00b0, then 25 minutes at 300\u00b0.
Cool on rack and store tightly covered.
