Ingredients

2 c. sugar
4 egg yolks
1 c. pecans
1 tsp. soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. allspice
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. butter
1 c. blackberry jam or seedless preserves
1 c. crushed pineapple, drained
3 c. plain flour
1 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. nutmeg
4 egg whites, beaten
Preparation

In large mixing bowl cream butter and sugar.
Add egg yolks, jam and pineapple.
Blend until smooth.
Add alternately dry ingredients and buttermilk.
Fold in nuts, then egg whites.
Bake in 3 greased and floured round cake pans at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
