Baked Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. dried beans
    1 envelope onion soup mix
    1/3 c. molasses
    2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
    2 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1/4 lb. salt pork
    6 c. water
Preparation
    Place beans and water in saucepan.
    Cover and bring to boil. Cook for 2 minutes.
    Remove from heat and let stand for 1 hour. Return to boil; reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
    Drain beans, reserving liquid.
    Place in a 2-quart casserole or bean pot.
    Mix onion soup mix, molasses, brown sugar and bean liquid. Combine with beans.
    Make 1/2-inch cuts in salt pork.
    Place in center of beans.
    Bake, covered, at 300\u00b0 for 4 hours, stirring often.
    If beans become dry, add boiling water.
