Italian Spaghetti Sauce - cooking recipe

2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. onion, slices
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 c. tomatoes
2 c. tomato sauce
1 1/2 tsp. oregano or sage
3 oz. canned mushrooms (2/3 c.)
1/4 c. parsley flakes
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. m.s.g. (monosodium glutamate) or Accent
1/4 tsp. thyme
1 bay leaf
1 c. water
Preparation

Brown beef in olive oil in large skillet and drain.
Add onion slices, garlic, tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano or sage, mushrooms, parsley flakes, salt, m.s.g., thyme and bay leaf.
Add water while cooking and cook the sauce for up to 2 hours. May be cooked in slow cooker without the water, unless needed.
