Fried Peppers In Tomato Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

12 to 15 large, sweet peppers (some red, if available)
2 small hot peppers
1 tsp. dried basil
pinch of oregano
pinch of sugar
dash of garlic salt (optional)
1/4 tsp. salt (if desired)
1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/4 c. oil (for frying)
Preparation

Wash and dry peppers; cut in halves lengthwise and remove seeds.
Cut each half into 3 or 4 strips.
Spray heavy pan with Pam.
Add cooking oil and heat until very hot.
Drop in pepper strips.
Reduce heat to medium.
Stir constantly to prevent burning.
Cook until peppers are tender, not mushy.
Add tomato sauce and other ingredients.
Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
Serve with beans or other vegetables.
This can be canned to use throughout the year.
