Queen Elizabeth'S Cake - cooking recipe

1 c. boiling water
1 c. chopped dates
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 beaten egg
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. nuts
5 Tbsp. brown sugar
5 Tbsp. cream
2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation

Boil ingredients for 3 minutes.
Spread on cake and sprinkle with coconut and nuts.
