Strawberry Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 heaping qt. strawberries
    4 c. sugar, divided
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Combine strawberries and 2 cups sugar.
    Bring to a boil and boil for 5 minutes.
    Add remaining sugar and lemon juice.
    Boil for 2 minutes.
    Pour into bowl and gently stir every few minutes until cool.
    Jar and seal the next morning.
    Strawberries will not separate into layers if completely cold when put into jars.
