Date Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 stick margarine
    1 c. sugar
    4 eggs, separated
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    16 oz. dates
    3 1/2 c. nuts
Preparation
    Cream margarine, sugar, egg yolks and vanilla.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
    Roll nuts and dates in flour mixture. Beat egg whites until stiff and add to other ingredients.
    Put in greased loaf pan.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Serves 8 to 10.
