Chocolate Nut Crunch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. vanilla wafer crumbs
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    3 well-beaten egg yolks
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    1 c. confectioners sugar
    1 1/2 oz. sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted
    3 stiff egg whites
Preparation
    Combine crumbs and nuts.
    Line bottom of 9-inch square pan with half of the crumb mixture.
    Thoroughly cream butter and sugar; add egg yolks.
    Add chocolate and vanilla.
    Mix well.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Spread over the crumb mixture.
    Top with remaining crumb mixture, patting down.
    Chill in refrigerator overnight.
    Cut in squares.
    Serves 9.
