Ingredients

4 c. strawberries, mashed
8 c. rhubarb, cut in 1/2-inch pieces
6 c. sugar
Preparation

Wash fruit; put rhubarb with 1/2 the sugar.
Let stand 2 hours.
Mash berries and put with remaining sugar.
Add with rhubarb.
Place mixture over low heat until sugar is dissolved, then boil rapidly, stirring frequently.
Cook until thick.
Pour into sterilized jars and seal while hot.
