Caramel Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe

1 pkg. pie crust mix
3 medium baking apples, washed, pared and cored
1 beaten egg
1/2 c. caramel sauce (from jar)
2 Tbsp. butter
1/3 c. dark brown sugar
3/4 c. water
1/4 c. canned, toasted slivered almonds
Preparation

Prepare pie crust as directed on box.
Roll 1/8-inch thick. With pastry wheel, cut out 3 (7-inch) squares, 6 strips (6-inches long and 3/4-inch wide) and 3 (1-inch) circles, rolling dough if needed.
