Our Favorite Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. 4x confectioners sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. mace
    3/4 lb. (1 1/2 c.) butter or margarine
    2/3 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    6 eggs
    3 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
Preparation
    Blend sugar, salt and mace in large mixing bowl. Cream the sugar mixture and butter until light and fluffy.
    Add extracts. Beat eggs into mixture, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Add parts of flour and milk to creamed mixture alternately, blending well after each addition.
    When smooth, turn batter into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
    Bake in a moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean and cake is golden brown.
    Allow cake to cool 5 minutes in pan. Turn out on cooling rack.
    Cool thoroughly.
