Casserole Surprise - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 large potato, peeled and sliced thin
    1/4 head cabbage, shredded (about 3 c.)
    2 carrots, shredded (about 1 c.)
    1 medium onion, chopped (about 1/2 c.)
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed cream of mushroom soup or cream of celery
    6 slices process American cheese
Preparation
    Pat 3/4 of ground beef in bottom of cold electric skillet. Layer vegetables over meat as listed, then crumble remaining meat over vegetables.
    Pour soup over meat and vegetables and spread to the edges of skillet.
    Top with cheese.
    Cook over medium-low heat (in electric skillet at 300\u00b0) for 30 to 40 minutes, or until vegetables are tender and mixture is bubbly.
