3/4 c. chocolate wafer crumbs, divided
1 c. butter or margarine
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
2 c. sifted powdered sugar
3 eggs, separated
1 c. coarsely chopped pecans
1 qt. vanilla ice cream, softened
Preparation

Sprinkle 1/2 cup chocolate crumbs evenly in ungreased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Set aside.
Combine butter and chocolate in a heavy saucepan; cook over low heat until melted.
Remove from heat; add powdered sugar and beat 2 minutes at medium speed in electric mixture.
Add yolks, beating until smooth.
Beat egg whites (at room temperature) until stiff peaks form.
Fold into chocolate mixture.
Carefully spoon mixture over crumbs and sprinkle with pecans.
