Banana Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. mashed bananas
    1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
    Cream shortening, gradually add sugar.
    Blend in eggs one at a time. Add bananas.
    Blend in dry ingredients.
    Fold in nuts.
    Pour into greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan.
    Push batter into corners leaving center slightly hollow.
    For well rounded loaf, let set 20 minutes before baking.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 60 to 70 minutes.
    Cool thoroughly before slicing.
