Guava Catsup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 onions (medium size), finely chopped
    1/4 c. water
    3 qt. guava pulp
    2 large garlic cloves, finely chopped
    1 Tbsp. salt
    6 c. cane sugar
    5 small peppers, finely chopped
    1 1/2 to 2 c. vinegar
    4 tsp. allspice (ground)
    3 tsp. ground cinnamon
    2 tsp. ground cloves
Preparation
    Cook the onions in the water until soft.
    Combine all the ingredients and cook for 30 to 40 minutes.
    Pour into hot, sterilized jars and seal immediately.
