Christmas Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shredded carrots
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1 (13 oz.) can chicken broth
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1/4 c. chopped green pepper
    3 Tbsp. butter
    3 Tbsp. flour
    2 c. milk
    4 oz. Gruyere cheese
    4 oz. American cheese
Preparation
    Combine carrots and celery in broth; cover and simmer until tender.
    Cook onion, green pepper and butter until tender.
    Blend in flour; add milk to this.
    Cook, stirring constantly, until it comes to a boil and is thick.
    Cook 2 minutes; add to broth mixture.
    Reduce heat and stir in cheese.
    Season to taste. Makes 6 small bowls.
