Ingredients

2/3 c. butter
1/3 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 slightly beaten egg whites
3/4 c. chopped walnuts
maraschino cherries
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add egg yolks, vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon of salt; beat well.
Gradually add flour, mixing well.
Shape in 3/4-inch balls; dip in egg whites and roll in nuts.
