Shaker Corn Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    4 c. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. plain salt
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    1 teaspoon turmeric
    2 Tbsp. dry mustard (optional)
    4 c. onions, chopped
    4 c. tomatoes, chopped
    4 c. cucumbers, chopped
    4 c. corn
    4 c. cabbage, chopped
Preparation
    In a large dutch oven combine the sugar, vinegar and spices and bring to a boiling point.
    Add the vegetables and cook 25 minutes stirring occasionally.
    Pack in hot scalded jars and seal. For variety, add 2 Tbsp. of dry mustard.
    Makes 12 pints.
