Betty'S Doughnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. lard
    2 beaten eggs
    2/3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    3/4 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Mix sugar and lard; add beaten eggs.
    Sift flour, salt, baking powder, soda and nutmeg.
    Add to first mixture with buttermilk.
    More flour may be added so that the dough can be handled nicely.
    Turn the doughnuts as soon as they come up so they won't crack.
