Mincemeat - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    3 c. raisins
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    3 c. puffed Muscatels
    1/2 c. brandy
    1 1/2 c. chopped candied peel (lemon, orange and citron)
    2 lb. apples, peeled, cored and chopped
    2 Tbsp. chopped blanched almonds
    grated juice and rind of 1 lemon
    grated juice and rind of 1 orange
    1 1/4 c. chopped beef suet (the hard white fat from around beef kidney)
    3 c. currants
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Mix all the ingredients together and seal in sterile jars. Store in a cool place.
