Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 well beaten egg
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 c. hot water
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. molasses
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream shortening and add sugar, egg and molasses.
    Add dry ingredients and hot water alternately.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes.
