Crispy French Fried Mushrooms - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 egg, separated
1/3 c. milk
1 tsp. sugar
1 lb. mushrooms, cleaned
5 c. Corn Chex cereal, crushed or bread crumbs or corn flakes, crushed
Preparation

Thoroughly mix flour, salt, baking powder and pepper.
Beat egg yolk and mix together.
Blend in dry ingredients.
Beat egg white until foamy.
Add sugar.
Beat until stiff but not dry. Fold into milk mixture.
Dip mushrooms in batter.
Drain.
Roll in Chex crumbs.
Drop a few at a time into deep hot (385\u00b0) fat.
Fry until golden brown (1 or 2 minutes), turning once.
Makes 18 to 20 appetizers.
